Pancreatic cancer begins in the tissues of the pancreas, with subtypes including:
- Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma: The most common type, which begins in the exocrine cells of the pancreas that produce enzymes.
- Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (NETs): A rare type of pancreatic cancer that begins in the hormone-producing cells of the pancreas.
- Acinar Cell Carcinoma: A rare type of cancer that originates in the enzyme-producing cells of the pancreas.
