Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is broadly categorized into two main types:

  • Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC):
    • Adenocarcinoma: The most common type, often found in the outer parts of the lungs.
    • Squamous Cell Carcinoma: Usually starts in the central part of the lungs.
    • Large Cell Carcinoma: A fast-growing form that can appear in any part of the lung.
  • Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC):
    • Small Cell Carcinoma: Often referred to as oat cell cancer, it tends to spread rapidly.
    • Combined Small Cell Carcinoma: Contains both small cell and non-small cell components.
