Colorectal cancer refers to cancer of the colon or rectum. Subtypes include:
- Adenocarcinoma: The most common type, originating in the glandular cells of the colon or rectum.
- Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GISTs): A rare type that begins in the interstitial cells of the gastrointestinal tract.
- Colorectal Lymphoma: A rare form that begins in the lymphatic tissue of the colon or rectum.
- Carcinoid Tumors: A type of neuroendocrine tumor that often starts in the digestive tract.
