Leukemia

Leukemia is a broad term for cancers of the blood and bone marrow. The primary subtypes of leukemia include:

  • Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL): A fast-growing cancer of the lymphoid line of blood cells.
  • Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML): A rapidly progressing cancer that affects the myeloid line of blood cells.
  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL): A slower-progressing cancer that starts in the lymphoid cells.
  • Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML): A slower-progressing cancer that begins in the myeloid cells and is often associated with a specific genetic mutation (BCR-ABL).
